Mitsubishi Triton 2.4l 4N15 Cracked Cylinder Head

Models Affected:

Mitsubishi Triton MQ MR 2015 on

Mitsubishi Pajero QE 2015 on

Description of Failure:
Crack present in Cylinder 4 injector tube.

Cause:
Manufacturing defect / faulty casting.

Symptoms:
Visible coolant leak from the driver-side rear of the rocker cover area, and gradual loss of coolant from the cooling system.

This issue is extremely common in the Triton MQ and MR models fitted with the 2.4L engine. Unfortunately, there is no simple repair — replacement of the cylinder head is required. We often encounter difficulty removing the injector from Cylinder 4 when the leak has been present for an extended period; coolant intrusion can cause corrosion around the injector, making removal challenging.

Southside Cylinder Heads has developed an aftermarket upgrade to the problematic OEM design. Our cylinder heads are cast thicker and stronger and are guaranteed not to suffer the same failure. They are available as a bare head, fully assembled head, or as a complete kit including VRS set, head gasket, and head bolts. Check them out HEREMitsubishi Triton 2.4l 4N15 Cracked Cylinder Head
